Likely Delaware State Record Bluefish and one heck of a fish tale! Dr. Mispireta landed the 24.8lb blue after it attacked and ate another fish he was reeling in. #FishTales #Delaware #Fishing #FinandField #Adventure

Talk about an awesome alligator! Dr. Luis Mispireta landed what will likely become the new Delaware State Record Bluefish while wreck fishing today in Del-Jersey Land aboard Katydid, with Captain Brent Wiest and Mate Chris Vann. Luis was winding in a sea bass caught on a butterfly jig when the 24.8 pound monster grabbed the struggling bass, and also became hooked up. After a hectic battle, the big slammer was finally brought aboard, and all on the boat realized the impressive 43 incher was not just another average blue. The fish was weighed in on Lewes Harbour Marina's certified scale, and the catch was verified by a DNREC officer, so the process is in motion for the blue to receive record status. Bill Thoroughgood captured the existing 21 pound 15 ounce State Record back in 1980. Congratulations to Dr. Luis and the crew of Katydid!
