About
Fish Call Charters offers light tackle and flyfishing charters around historic Charleston, SC. We fish the shallow calm waters surrounding the Charleston Harbor and adjacent barrier islands. We now have two boats to chose from: the "FISH CALL," a 17ft ultra-light flats boat or the "FLYIN' HIGH," a 21ft bay boat with sun protection. Both boats typically leave from the Isle of Palms Marina just outside of Charleston. Whether it is sightcasting to schools of redfish on the shallow water flats or stalking huge tarpon and bull reds on the outer sandbars, Charleston and its' surrounding waters offers excellent year round fishing opportunities for several different species of gamefish.
Capt. J.R. Waits, a Charleston native and licensed captain, will be your guide to an exciting day on the water. Whether you are a first time fisherman or a world record holder, your captain will cater the charter to fulfill all of your expectations. Capt. Waits has been guiding since 1996, and has been featured in Sport Fishing Magazine, Saltwater Sportsman, In-Fisherman Magazine, South Carolina Game & Fish, South Carolina Sportsman, North Carolina Sportsman, plus many more, and he also has been featured on In-Fisherman Television, Dodge Everyday Sportsman, Shallow Water Angler Television, Familiar Waters, Big Water Adventures plus other TV shows as well. "Often I have been exhausted on trout streams, uncomfortable, wet, cold, briar scarred, sunburned, mosquito bitten, but never, with a fly rod in my hand have I been less than in a place that was less than beautiful."
