This trip focuses on the stretch of the Kenai river downstream from the outlet of Skilak Lake. The river is wider here than on the upper stretch and encompasses portions of the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. The wilderness here sometimes rewards us with sightings of wildlife and waterfowl. The bigger water holds some true lunker Rainbow trout and Dolly Varden char. There are also seasonal opportunities for Sockeye and Silver Salmon.
