Have I ever mentioned that I love my job? Had a great day with a pretty young lady that I have known since she was 8 years old, and her boyfriend from Tennessee. Former Mammoth local Caitlyn Schwind & Cody Jensen rocked the fish until noon in Hilton. "Dang Gina" ya'll can fish! The bite was on big time for the Drifters fleet in 16-19 feet using chironomid pupa and larva patterns. A gillie, or copper head crystal emerger as the upper, and a copper tiger midge; or dark zebra have been hot tandem rigs the last few days. Very steady action throughout the Hilton's, with the browns coming to net in double digits. The afternoon T-storoms have sprung up once again, prefaced by some stiff south winds that shut down the bite around noon. The 1,780-pound, world record tiger shark was caught by Walter Maxwell from Cherry Grove Pier. It remains to this day the only all-tackle world record ever caught in SC. The shark is estimated to have weighed in at 2,000 lbs when it was caught, but it was not weighed until the next day when it could be trucked to Loris and placed on the scales.
