Capt. Tom Burke has owned & operated Cold Steel sportfishing for the last 25 years. Based in New York's famous Salmon river region, on the eastern end of lake Ontario. Spending 6 months a year on lake Ontario & 6 months on the Salmon river & other tributaries. Tom has spent his entire adult life in pursuit of trophy salmon & trout. Including 8 summer's in Alaska's famous Bristol bay watershed.
    Operating a 1977 36' Egg Harbor sportfisherman on lake Ontario. This vessel has been restored from bow to stern. Providing a comfortable, stable and safe fishing platform, while its rich mahogany interior brings back memories of the good old days! In 2000 Tom brought 1st mate Andy Bliss onboard, who is now also a licensed captain and Nys guide. Together they have been a formidable duo, whether chartering. Or winning tournaments from one end of the lake to the other. Two full time captains, tournament tested, top quality gear(Shimano, Cannon, Furuno, etc) fully licensed & insured.

In 2012 we purchased the Dixie Dandy & retained long time captain Gerry Bresadola. By adding a 2nd boat with 30 years experience who also has a fulltime mate/captain onboard, we insure always keeping our clients on the fish!
     From September to May Cold Steel moves to the tribs. This allows us to follow large adult King & Coho salmon, along with steelhead & Brown trout. Either streamside, or from the comfort of our 18' heated Makenzie drift boat Capt. Tom will guide you to that trophy of a lifetime!! Whether you choose big Kings during the beautiful fall foliage. Acrobatic steelhead dancing across the water with the falling leaves. Or become one of the "frozen chosen" during the solitude of winter steelheading! Cold steel will again provide you with top of the line gear and the knowledge of the rivers garnered over thousands of hours on the water.
