Godspeed Charters Overview About

The Godspeed mission is to provide a wonderful experience for people to share with friends and family. We treat our customers with courtesy and respect, and enjoy the relationships that we share with those that return year after year. We make every effort to ensure that you will be excited about, and looking forward to your next fishing adventure aboard the Godspeed. Lots of people travel to Cape Hatteras to fish the Gulf Stream waters that lie just a short distance from the coast. Many plan a day or two offshore for an exciting activity during their week long stay on the Outer Banks, while others make the drive just for a day's fishing. Either way, an offshore adventure can be an event of a lifetime, and you never know what will happen from one day to the next. We can, however, try to predict the best time to fish for a particular species based on years of experience, but it's not uncommon for the Gulf Stream to "throw us a curve" from time to time.

I have always had a great adventure fishing with Captain David Wilson on the GODSPEED and always learn something new on every trip. There's year round fishing out of Hatteras, you just need a good weather day!

I have had the pleasure and truly mean pleasure of fishing with Capt. David Wilson since 1998. Throughout the years we have targeted many different species of fish together but our trips were all ways the exact same, a boat full of fish and a barrel of fun. Capt. Dave is a very accomplished fisherman and captain. One of the most respected on Hatteras Island. His skills and knowledge not only of the area to be fished but of the fish he is targeting almost takes the guess work out of fishing. Aboard the Godspeed it should be referred to as catching not fishing. The experience aboard the Godspeed doesn't stop at just the fishing. Once on board you are made to feel like part of Capt. Daves fishing family. Capt. Dave interacts with his charters not only professionally but in a way that makes you feel like you are old fishing buddies heading out for one more catch. He strives to make each trip one for the memory books. I can't think of another captain that I would rather spend time fishing with. Booking a trip with Capt. Dave on the Godspeed will certainly have you wanting many more return trips.

If you like tight lines, bent poles, a world class variety of sport fish & interactive fishing methods, then you've found it with Cpt. Dave & the Godspeed. To keep it simple - Dave finds the fish.

I've been fishing with Captain Dave for years. He works hard to put me on the fish. My freezer stays full of wahoo, dolphin, tuna, grouper and kings. When the freezer starts getting low, my wife says "it's time to go see David Wilson." Godspeed is a great boat. Smooth ride...top notch equipment. Comfortable enough to take your wife and kids. Always a gorgeous sunrise...porpoises swimming alongside, turtles, massive Rays and once, even a whale off in the distance. I celebrated my retirement by going on a blue fin trip with Dave. He did not disappoint. Dave is a great captain, a fine man, and works hard to give you the best experience. I can't wait to go again!

We have been traveling from New York City and New Jersey for years to fish with Captain Dave. He is a true professional that knows his territory. We have consistantly had success each and everytime with Captain Dave and the Godspeed. He treats us "Yankees" like family! You can't go wrong with him, a REAL good man! JB

I've had the great pleasure of Fishing with Capt. David Wilson twice in 2014, and plan on many more trips in the coming years. He is a great Captain who understands and listens to his customers desires and is more than willing to tell them if it is probable (anything is possible). He and his mate know if I'm on board, my passion is billfish and do everything possible to get me into an encounter situation. Every trip is a great time, his mate Mike is first class, and both of them work together to make fishing seem effortless. As the saying goes, chashing billfish is normally 8 hours of boredom interrupted by 10 minutes of chaos, but not on the Godspeed, it's always a great time!! I've been forturnate enough to travel to many parts of the world and fish with many of the great captains, and David Wilson deserves recognition as one of those greats!

I have known Capt Wilson for over 10 years. Not only is he a great captain and fisherman. He is truly a good man. I have fished all over the coast of NC and he always my first choice for the outer banks. He always has a great crew and the boat is very comfortable. I have always been satisfied and well pleased with the day. You want go wrong making Godspeed your charter choice.

I have fished with Captain Wilson in May the past two years and have had great trips both times, doing very well on gaffer dolphin. The first trip was with friends from work, and the second was with my family, including my 2 kids. Captain Wilson's laid back personality made for a very pleasant, low pressure atmosphere on the boat, and his first mate was excellent. Would definitely recommend Godspeed Charters as a first rate operation, and we're hoping to fish with them again this year to go after some wahoo!

I have fished on the Godspeed for over 5 years. There is no other boat that I would go out on. Captain David is one of the best fisherman around. He knows where and when to look for the best catches (I have never had a bad catch). Captain David and the crew are always the most professional, fun people you could ever meet. And the boat, well let's just say, it is absolutely beautiful! Lots of room with all of the latest gear and tackle and plenty of good memories to be made! There is no other boat or crew that I would choose to spend a day out in the Gulfstream with!! A+++++++ experience all the way around!
