The preserve is owned and maintained by three generations of the Matarese family, who have recreated for the hunter a way of sporting life that today is as rare as it is enviable.
Not far from the hustle of city life is a sportsman’s paradise reminiscent of an earlier era... a place that brings to mind an age not far removed in time but almost completely gone in spirit... an age fondly recounted by our grandfathers and great-uncles in hunting stories of quiet wonder and, sometimes, even awe.
These are tales of field and forest and upland game, favorite dogs and favored friends... narratives of seasoned hunters who lived events that, in their retelling, have become the substance of myth, legend and dreams.
