Been seeing this cat's track for 3 years. It's always been bad timing and haven't ever been able to dump dogs on him. That all changed yesterday. Finally put this hoss in a tree. Hope to find him to run again another day, but if not, it sure was good to finally see what has been leaving those giant tracks.
A couple weeks ago we posted this photo. (read the description below) Well the day finally came. The hounds put this giant in a tree today. After some pictures and enjoying the moment we called dogs off and let this big cat carry on being his badass self. Pictures of the cat will be posted tomorrow morning.
One of these days we're going to find this big cat and have the timing be right. Seems we're always a couple days too late or hunting something else and don't have dogs with us. It's going to happen.
It's application time for the fall big game hunts. If you have any questions on what unit of hunt to apply for, we would be happy to offer some guidance on the units we spend time in. The deadline to apply is March 3rd.
There's a spring time fever that can only be cured by days like this. Anybody else feeling the sickness coming on? Horn Hunter Cody Webster Guy Webster Vortex Optics

Starting a day late on this young tom didn't stop the dogs from doing their job. Long walk to the tree, but worth it. Let 'em go, let 'em grow.
Happy New Year. 2015 treated GT Outfitters very well, can't wait to see what's in store for 2016.
Merry Christmas from GT Outfitters. We were able to meet some great people and take some great animals in 2015. Thank you to all those that made this year successful and enjoyable.
Don't know where this originated, but it's a pretty good read about a life that most will never understand. JUST A DOG “From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a dog," or "that's a lot of money for just a dog." They don't understand the distance traveled, the time spent, or the costs involved for "just a dog." Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog." Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog," but I did not once feel slighted. Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a dog," and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a dog" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day. If you, too, think it's "just a dog," then you will probably understand phrases like "just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise." "Just a dog" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure and unbridled joy. "Just a dog" brings out the compassion and patience that makes me a better person. Because of "just a dog," I will rise early, take long rides and look longingly to the future. So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a dog" but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment. I hope that someday they can understand that it's not "just a dog," but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a man." So the next time you hear the phrase "just a dog," just smile--because they "just don't understand."
Here's a TBT of years ago. A couple of the dogs in the photo were young and are now in the last stages of their cat chasing days, the others have gone on to chase those lions in the sky.
Whoever said "if you're not the lead dog, the view never changes", never followed a pack of hounds. The things and places we see behind the dogs are amazing.
Miss the hell outta this ol' boy. Been one year since I lost him. He was the foundation of building the pack we have today. Lots of good memories under a tree with him.
